The PNG Provincial and Local-level Governments Program (PLGP) is a partnership between the governments of Australia and PNG to support and improve the quality of decentralised service delivery to the people of PNG through capacity development of provincial governments and other key national agencies.  PLGP is seeking applications from highly experienced development professionals to provide support and leadership to a multi-location, multi-disciplinary team, and its interaction with key stakeholders.
 
As Team Leader you will oversee the delivery of the Provincial and Local Level Governments Program to maximise its effective whilst ensuring the implementation of cross-cutting issues. The Team Leader will provide practical and strategic advice to Provincial and Local Government Program Stakeholders in the support of the achievement of the End-of-Program Outcome. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and timely implementation of annual plans and Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. You will develop a strong performance culture in all areas of the program to ensure requirements are delivered as agreed.
To be successful for this position, applicants will need to demonstrate significant experience as a Team Leader in a similar role including leading and managing large and diverse teams and in providing strategic advice and planning on a large and complex donor funded program. Ideally you will have 10 or more years proven experience in governance or institutional strengthening, preferably in a decentralised, developing country context. A strong understanding of cross-cutting issues and development effectiveness principles is critical as are excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage key stakeholders and partners.
