Grameen Helps Cash-Strapped Americans

Even in the world’s richest nations, not everyone has access to financial services. That’s what Grameen Bank founder Muhammad Yunus found out after opening Grameen America in New York in 2008. Borrowers were quite happy to secure $2,200 average loans, Yunus told the audience at a Feb. 4 event of the World Affairs Council of Washington, D.C.
