Facebook, Twitter and taking credit for revolutions

How far should technology firms like Facebook and Twitter take credit for historic events that apparently gravitate around their platforms? Matthew Clark says these corporations should refrain from taking credit for the good their technologies have brought about because they are going to be held accountable for all the bad that stems from them as well.
