Posted by Eliza Villarino on 04 November 2011 12:51:33 AM

The Inter-American Development Bank is inviting civil society groups to submit proposals for projects promoting poverty reduction and social development in 26 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The IDB-administered Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction will sponsor the projects. A winning project in a single community will receive $300,000, while one for several communities within a country will be awarded $1.5 million. According to the bank, the requested funding should match the management capacity of the proponent group.

IDB will receive proposals through its website up to Dec. 31, 2011.
