Canadians Give More Than USD100M to Haiti

Private Canadian donations for relief efforts in Haiti have totaled USD105.6 million since the Jan. 12 quake, bringing the country’s total contributions to USD291 million for emergency relief in the devastated country. Canadian International Cooperation Minister Bev Oda lauded the generosity of Canadian citizens as she vowed that the government would match all private donations gathered by Feb. 12, or a month since the temblor killed more than 200,000 people in the Caribbean nation.
