Rural Financial Services Project in Ghana
The Rural Financial Services Project (RFSP) in Ghana seeks to broaden and deepen financial intermediation in rural areas to improve access to financial services by an expanded number of rural poor. Under this project, a consulting service is required for the Microfinance Outreach & Capacity-Building Agency (MOCA).
Specifically, this will cover the design of methodology, preparation of a manual for implementing a micro finance outreach and capacity-building support initiative for Rural and Community Banks (RCB), and consultation and sensitization on the approach. The consultants will provide a framework by which a selected number of RCBs would receive comprehensive support under the project to build their institutional capacities for the development of their systems and products to expand delivery of appropriate financial and training services to rural households and micro enterprises sector on a sustainable basis. The initial program support under RFSP would serve as a pilot that will be replicated to other Rural Micro Finance Institutions and Apex institutions.
