The Republic of Haiti intends to apply for financing in the amount of approximately US$ 60 million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Earthquake Roads and Infrastructure Emergency Recovery Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project will include the following components:

  • Project initiation, including: (i) engineering assessment and development of bidding documents; (ii) importation of lanterns / solar panels; (iii) support to immediate health and food needs;
  • Emergency rehabilitation of infrastructure, including rehabilitation / reconstruction of key public infrastructure (inter alia: buildings, roads and other transport infrastructure);
  • Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Finance: physical reconstruction of the Ministry of Finance and reinstatement of its regular functions;
  • Support to the Haitian national crisis committee and technical secretariat.
