The World Bank has earmarked US$11.2 million for energy access and rural development initiatives in Djibouti. This is part of the 2009-2012 country assistance strategy.
UPDATE, 15 March 2010: The additional financing for the Energy Access Project is due for board approval in June 2010. The Rural Development project will commence its pre-appraisal activities in April 2010.
UPDATE, 17 June 2010: The World Bank has just approved a grant amounting to $6 million as additional financing to the Power Access and Diversification project.
UPDATE, 9 September 2010: The World Bank has just released a project information document for a rural development and water resource management project.
UPDATE, 21 December 2011: The Bank released a procurement notice for the Energy Access project on 20 December 2011.
