The Government of Kenya (GoK) and Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KenGen) has applied for financing in the amount of US\$ 920 million equivalent from the World Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), European Investment Bank (EIB) and German Development Cooperation (KfW) toward the cost of the Olkaria IV & Olkaria I Additional Units Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project will include the following components:

i) Lot A: Steam field Development- This contract shall constitute supply, installation and testing of the Steam-gathering/transmission system from the wells to the new power stations and for conveying the condensate for reinjection to the reinjection wells using both hot and cold reinjection.

ii) Lot B1: Olkaria I Additional Units 4 & 5 Geothermal Power Plant Facilities- This constitute Engineer Procure Construct of two Power Plant each 140MW including all Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Control and Instrumentation works.

iii) Lot B2: Olkaria IV Geothermal Power Plant Facilities- This constitute Engineer Procure Construct of two Power Plant each 140MW including all Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Control and Instrumentation works.

iv) Lot C: HV Substations and Transmission lines - This will constitute design, supply, installation and commissioning of HV substations & switchgear and HV transmission lines for interconnecting both Olkaria IV and Olkaria I Unit 4 & 5 power plants to the grid. The work also include modification of the existing substations to enable the new facilities integrate with existing grid.

This is a General Procurement Notice and specific contracts shall be announced as soon as they become available.
