The Republic of Kazakhstan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Health Sector Technology Transfer and Institutional Reform Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services under the following Contract: I. KHSTTIRP-F/CS-01 - TWINNING ARRANGEMENT ON FOOD SAFETY AND WTO ACCESSION. Duration of the Assignment: 2010-2012 Expected outcomes: To support the development and introduction of a robust, effective and internationally accepted system for the assurance of food safety in compliance with WTO requirements. This contract includes the following general tasks: 1) modernization of the Kazakhstani food safety system based on international norms and standards. 2) Strengtheningof the SES’ staff capacity and professional skills on food safety issues. 3) Raising public awareness of food safety measures and mechanisms. |
