Project Summary

The Danish government has allocated DKK90 million (US$18 million) to the new HIV/AIDS scheme that will form part of the 2007-2011 country strategy for Zambia. According to a Danish government official, implementation is expected to start in early 2009, and the program will entail providing a combination of support to government and civil society.

UPDATE (19 January 2009): Information gathered from the agency website confirms that DANIDA has committed DKK90million (US$18 million) as it embarks on a new HIV/AIDS program for 2008-2011. The program is fully-assigned to the Zambian government’s national AIDS strategic framework for 2006-2010.

UPDATE (8 April 2009): An embassy representative said that there will be no major procurement under the HIV/AIDS program.
