The goal of the Health Services Improvement Project at the Mulago National Referral Hospital and the City of Kampala in Uganda is to improve the access of the population to better health care services.
The project will be appraised and presented to the Board on 12 July 2010 and 13 October 2010 respectively.

On 7 July 2011, the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank approved funding of the Improvement of Health Services Delivery at Mulago Hospital and in the City of Kampala Project in Uganda. The total amount approved was for USD 89 million
The activities to be undertaken are grouped into the following:
Component 1: Capacity Development and Systems Strengthening
Component 2: Revitalization of the Health Referral Services
Component 3 Expanded and Improved Specialized Health Facilities in Kampala
The Ministry of Health will be the executing agency of this project. The project will be carried out over a 5 year period from 2011 to 2015.
This project was formerly entitled the Health Services Improvement Project at the Mulago National Referral Hospital and the City of Kampala in Uganda.
