The Livestock Development and Animal Health Project intends to improve the productivity of key livelihood production systems and to ensure safety of meat and milk products in selected slaughter houses and milk collection centers. These objectives are designed to be achieved through the following components:
Component 1: Strengthening Veterinary Services and Support to to the Establishment of a Disease Free Zone
Component 2: Productive Investments and Access to Services for Producers and Organizations
Component 3: Institutional Development
The project appraisal is expected on 11 April 2011 and the Board Approval is scheduled on 27 September 2011.
The International Development Association (IDA) shall provide US$ 45 million for the project.

The project has been approved by the Board on 28 February 2012. The project completion is expected on 30 June 2018.

The Board Approval has been moved to 28 February 2012. The total project cost is now estimated at US$64.7 million.
