Project Summary

The Maximizing Agricultural Revenue and Key Enterprises in Targeted Sites (MARKETS) in Nigeria is an integrated program of activities and interventions to improve livelihoods in selected areas in support of USAID/Nigeria SO12 and Intermediate Results (IRs) 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3 to improve productivity, value-added processing and commercialization. MARKETS will expand economic opportunities in the Nigerian agricultural sector by increasing agricultural productivity, enhancing value-added processing, and increasing commercialization through private-sector led growth and development. MARKETS will include two total funding levels of: (1) US$ 24 million, and (2) US$ 34 million, of which additional USAID funding for the high level may come from Agency-wide initiatives. The project term will last for five years. This is a request for comments on a draft RFP. No proposals are required at this time. Deadline for submission of comments is on November 26, 2004, 1330H, Nigerian time.
