Project Summary

The Government of Ghana has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include: 

  • A Partial Credit Guarantee Program which is a risk-sharing facility offered by the International Development Association (IDA) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) aimed at encouraging local commercial banks to lend to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). To enhance the effectiveness of the Program and extend its outreach to a broader base of firms, the programme will include a Performance based Technical
  • Assistance (TA) to Banks: To train and advise one Participating Bank on how to improve their SME lending system, processes and capacity. This assignment is expected to cover a 12 month period.
