There will be a need for civil works in the upgrade of projects in three hubs, construction or restoration of paved access roads, and expansion or installation of sanitation system. Consulting services will also be necessary for market studies, diagnostic study, integrated tourist site upgrade, consolidation of the PDITS, development and implementation of management instruments, preparation and implementation of the environmental management plan, socioenvironmental audits, institutional strengthening, marketing strategy, program administration, and external audit.

This operation was approved by the Board in 5 May 2010. The agency in charge of executing the project is the Department of Tourism (Setur).

The total estimated cost of project is US$ 250 million with IDB contribution amounting to US$ 150 million.
