Rural Development Cooperation with Niger

Project Summary

The European Commission has allocated an indicative 62 million euros (US$92 million) in support of rural development in Niger. This is part of the E.C.’s 2008-2013 country strategy and national indicative program.

 

UPDATE, 26 February 2010: An EC delegation official told Devex that most of the programs are currently on hold due to the political instability compounded by the military putsch earlier this month.

 

UPDATE, 26 October 2010: The European Commission has published a general procurement notice for the surveillance and maintenance of paved roads.

 

UPDATE, 31 January 2011: The European Commission has published two general procurement notices for periodic maintenance of roads and institutional support for the road program.

 

UPDATE, 05 August 2011: The EU has published a procurement notice for technical assistance to the launching of program-based approach in rural development.
