The Second Karnataka State Highway Improvement Project intends to facilitate the development of the Core Road Network and to enhance the institutional capacity of the road sector agencies on CRN management and delivery. These objectives are designed to be achieved through the following components;
Component 1: Highway Financing Modernization
Component 2: Road Improvement
Component 3: Road Sector Policy and Institutional Development
Component 4: Road Safety Improvement
The appraisal authorization is scheduled on 29 November 2010. The project is expected to go to the Board for approval on 17 March 2011.
The total project cost is estimated at US$ 509 million.
