The U.S. Agency for International Development regularly taps the private sector to deliver assistance abroad. Which companies have received the largest share? Here’s our top 20, based on USAID data.
The project intends to enhance SPS management system and improve the provision of SPS services. These objectives are designed to be achieved through the following components:
Component 1: Improving Surveillance and Inspection Program; and Exchange of Information about Pests, Diseases and Food Safety.
Component 2: Improving Governance, Legal and Regulatory Mechanisms
Component 3: Increasing Education Level and University Output of SPS Specialists
Component 4: Improving Regional Cooperation and Harmonization
Component 5: Monitoring and Evaluation
The project is expected to go to the Board for approval on 29 September 2011.
The Asian Development Bank shall provide US$ 20 million for this operation.

The Board Approval has been moved to 13 February 2012. The ADB financing is now estimated at US$11 million.
