1. This Invitation to Bid (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the UN Development Business online on 1st July 2009.

2. The Government of the Republic of Uganda, acting through the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education and Sports (hereinafter referred to as the “Purchaser”) has received a Loan from the Africa Development Fund in various currencies towards the cost of “Uganda Post-Primary Education & Training Expansion and Improvement Project (ADB Education IV)” and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this Loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract to be issued from the present Invitation for Bids.

3. The Purchaser now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply and Delivery Textbooks for 57 Secondary Schools and 2 BTVET Institutes The Tender is under the following lots: -
Lot 3A: Supply & Delivery of Mathematics and Physics Textbooks
Lot 3B: Supply & Delivery of Biology Textbooks and Chemistry Textbooks
Lot 3C: Supply & Delivery of English Language and English Literature Textbooks
Lot 3D: Supply & Delivery of Geography and History Textbooks
Lot 3E: Supply & Delivery of Religious Studies, Technical/Vocational Studies, Foods and Nutrition, Accounts, Commerce, Entrepreneurship Computer Studies, Physical Education and Sports and French Language Textbooks
Lot 3F: Supply & Delivery of BTVET Textbooks
