The U.S. Agency for International Development regularly taps the private sector to deliver assistance abroad. Which companies have received the largest share? Here’s our top 20, based on USAID data.
The Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) Investment Program intends to support public health and environment by improving water supply services and wastewater disposal.
This operation is the Tranche 2 of the Investment Program and will support specific area-related activities under the following components:
Component 1: Water Supply and Sanitation Infrastructure Development;
Component 2: Institutional Effectiveness; and
Component 3: Establishment of a Program Management Facility.
Tranche 2 activities are expected to include wastewater treatment plants construction, WSS infrastructure development in Agdash, Nakhchivan, Balakan and other Peri-urban Baku areas.
The project is expected to go to the Board for approval on 25 April 2010.
The total cost of the Tranche 2 is estimated at US$ 226.7 million.

The project has been approved by the Board on 22 December 2011.

The Board Approval has been rescheduled on 9 December 2011. The project financing is now estimated at US$300 million.

The Board Approval has been moved to 31 December 2011. The ADB financing for this Tranche is now estimated at US$150 million.
