The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received a credit from the World Bank towards the cost of the Zanzibar Urban Services Project (ZUSP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for the consultancy services for Preparation of Diagrammatic Indicative Structure Plan for Zanzibar Municipality and Its Immediate Periphery and Urban Development Approach for Zanzibar Town.
The services include preparation of the Diagrammatic Indicative Structure Plan for Zanzibar Municipal Council and its immediate periphery and urban development policy for Zanzibar Town that will guide and control of the development of Zanzibar Town and ensure the delivery of basic services by the local authorities and related institutions. Through this assignment the project aims to enhance community participation in planning, implementation and facilitating provision of basic service infrastructure in Zanzibar Municipality and its periphery, develop coherent policies and legislations which are supported by an appropriate institutional structure and identify investment requirements which will be required to realize and implement the structure plan. The duration of the whole consultancy will be 18 months.
President’s Office Finance, Economy and Development Planning now invites eligible consulting firms (consultants) to their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, general qualifications and number of key staff, etc).
