We are seeking a Chief of Party (COP) for a long-term (4 year) Clean Energy Development program in Indonesia for USAID. The ideal candidate will have the following minimum set of qualifications:

 

  • At least 15 years of experience in implementing energy sector restructuring and reform, as well as considerable experience in project finance and small-scale energy systems. This experience should include work with government institutions, businesses, and regulatory agencies, and with energy sector reform and project development and management, including design, construction and operation of a public private partnership energy project. International experience in countries undergoing power market reforms is crucial.
  • Advanced degree(s) in energy-related engineering, policy, business, finance, economics, or law is required.
  • Proven leadership in the administration of similar size international donor support programs with skills in strategic planning, management, supervision and budgeting.
  • Proven ability to develop and communicate a common vision among diverse partners and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, as well as to develop a network of contacts among international donor officials and non-government staff.
  • Evidence of excellent skills in intercultural communications and proven experience in facilitating dialogue among energy industry, financial sector and government and demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with senior representatives of national and local government, the private sector and civil society.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and knowledge of the energy sector in Indonesia is preferred.
