Position Finance Manager
Location South Sudan
About RI: Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development, currently seeks a Finance Manager.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the International Finance Controller, the Manager is responsible for running the day-to-day financial operations of the field programs, including the supervision and training of national finance manager and officers in order for the local finance staff to take over primary management of the finance department. The Manager prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports for the field programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Work closely with the Country Director and other Finance Officers to implement, improve and maintain financial management policies, systems, structures, and procedures.
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the finance office through supervision/management of the local Finance Officers.
- Plan and supervise work of the field finance staff including tracking and monitoring of procurements and expenditures, and establishes and maintains an office purchasing, inventory, and requisition system.
- Conduct training sessions for local finance staff.
- Coordinate compiling of project monthly financial reports for submission to the International Finance Controller and Country Directors
- Prepare project budget vs actual reports on a regular monthly basis
- Work closely with the Country Directors and Program Managers to monitor the project budget.
- Assist project coordinators in ensuring compliance with RI procurements and field accounting polices and procedures, compliance with donor agreement and audit requirements
- Work closely with project coordinators over the project implementation planning and cash flow projections.
- Prepare budget revision in close coordination with project manager when necessary
- Make sure that financial records and backup documentation is ready for internal and external audits
- Work closely with internal and external auditors
- Oversee National finance staff and provide training and management when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
- Must have a strong desire to work for humanitarian aid organization.
- Previous experience in non-profit organizations and familiarity with USAID, ECHO, EC and UN grants administration.
- Previous overseas experience as in-country Finance Officer or Manager highly desirable
- Minimum of 5 years finance experience at supervisory level.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks software, grant reporting, fund accounting, tax reporting, and ADP payroll systems.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- Strong leadership ability, outstanding written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Minimum of a BA in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, and an MBA preferred.
- Regional experience is preferred
