To develop implement, and perform the Grant Accounting, Projects Accountings, Budgetary functions for World Vision Zimbabwe, to ensure conformity with World Vision International reporting requirements and more stringent compliance standards established by each donor government/regulatory agency.
Strategic financial planning and management
* Alignment of partnership budgets between National Office (NO), projects, grants, MyPBAS and support offices.
* Coordinate the budgeting process as per the budget guidelines
* Contribute to the preparation of the annual operating plan as per guidelines.
Promote financial accountability and reporting
* Implement systems, policies and procedures that provide appropriate levels of security and control of WV assets, resources and operations.
* Submission of timely, accurate and complete relevant reporting
* Implementation of efficient and effective internal control systems.
Cost efficiency and effectiveness
* Ensure cost effectiveness through competitive bidding process and quality products/outputs
Risk Management and Controls
* Ensure management responses to risk management and audits performed are sent on time to the Audit department and audit recommendations are implemented.
Capacity building
* Ensure competent and motivated staff are hired and retained.
* Ensure there is a capacity development plan for finance staff.
* Coordinate and conduct training in areas like accounting, SunSystem, risk management, grant compliance and other key financial areas to NO and project finance staff.
Strategic networks
* Develop good networks and relationships with other National Offices, Support Offices, other partnership areas, other NGO, Banking entities, etc.
* Promote shared resource networks within the Sub-region, Africa and the partnership.
Leadership/management
* Provide leadership to the administration and procurement departments to ensure smooth running efficient delivery of services
REQUIRED:
* Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
* At least five years accounting experience in specifically in NGOs, with good supervisory and technical expertise on accounting systems development, internal controls and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of and experience with government grant regulations and financial reporting requirements preferred
* Must have very good working knowledge GAAP and government/donor regulations and requirements.
* Extensive knowledge of computer applications especially databases/SunSystem, spreadsheets and word processing software
* Good oral/written and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work on a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff, and with minimum supervision
PREFERRED:
* Professional Qualification in Finance or Accountancy e.g. CPA
