Chemonics International seeks a chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Pakistan that will focus on improving confidence and trust between local communities and local-level governance structures and on increasing broad public access to information about key policies, reforms, and initiatives. The project will have a strong grants component. This position will be based in Pakistan and will require work in and/or travel to parts of the country that may be experiencing high levels of instability. Responsibilities include: provide overall project management and oversight; liaise with USAID; supervise local and expatriate staff; oversee all aspects of activity design and program management, including a grants component.

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum five years of field experience supervising complex operations in international, security-challenged environments

- Minimum  five years of field experience supervising complex field operations in international, security-challenged environments.

- Significant experience managing donor-funded grant programs strongly desired

- Field experience preferred working with fast-paced USAID-funded rapid response activities such as those supported by the Office of Foreign Disaster - - - Assistance or Office of Transition Initiatives 

- Demonstrated experience managing systems and office set-up, financial management, procurement, and overall office administration in international field programs

- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a multicultural team in a security-challenged environment 

- Experience working in Pakistan or elsewhere in South or Central Asia strongly preferred

- English fluency required; Urdu or Pashto desired, but not required
