FSD Kenya requires an outstanding individual to spearhead an exciting new initiative to support the development of appropriate working capital products for the growing number of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya.  

Based full time in Nairobi, Kenya for an initial period of two years, the position will involve:

  • Identifying and signing up suitable financial sector partners,
  • Helping design and pilot financial products that effectively address SME supply chain working capital constraints
  • Coordinating project resource allocation to effectively identify and overcome constraints to product introduction and scale up,
  • Addressing capacity requirements through effective technical assistance,
  • Capturing and disseminating the lessons learned through presentations and publications
  • Designing follow-on interventions to support financial sector innovation in SME product development

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a graduate degree in finance, strategy, business management, or equivalent post graduate qualification,
  • Have at least 8 years of financial industry experience, including credit, risk management or similar function,
  • Have experience of financial product development and implementation
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of SME finance issues in a developing economy context,
  • Have successfully managed complex projects,
  • Possess outstanding written and oral English presentation skills.
