Skills, Background, and Experience
With more than 15 years experience in the area of International HR Management, I have had the honor to work with prestigious organizations and NGOs on a wide range of projects such as recruiting at the foot of Kilimanjaro, trusted advisor to CEOs and co-author of a top-rated Danish management book, HR Fitness. Throughout my career, I have focused on international organizational development. Be it organizational design, facilitation, management/leadership training, HR strategy, people strategy, competence management, HR-IT strategy, change management, M&A or recruitment. Whether it is an NGO or a Fortune 500 company, my mission has always been to inspire, invoke and shed light on the best path possible in all circumstances. As a Managing Consultant at PA Consulting Group, I was responsible for a team that focused on people and organizational change. As the Head of HR for an NGO with focus on poverty eradication in Africa, Central America and Nepal, I not only set HR strategy and recruited key personnel, but I also was able to juggle for a group of orphans in Tanzania. Through LARS INC, I have worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark to define and implement a recruitment strategy for bilateral long-term advisors and outsourcing of recruitment. I’ve acted as an HR Advisor for the Ministry and Danida on outsourcing of the International Humanitarian Service. And, I’ve been a trusted advisor to a member of the diplomatic corps. Even as Regional Legal Counsel at ICL (yes, I have practiced law), my focus has been international trade law, EU legislation, international M&A and employment legislation and directives in the EU. My deep interest in the human part of human resource management has kept me curious and led me to sit on the board of non-profit organizations, study leadership development with the Pathfinder organization, and aspire to creating a global leadership development program. Ask me about Rule #6.
