  • March 2008 - February 2009 Country Representative, Swiss Red Cross
    The Swiss Red Cross (SRC) sponsored programmes in Bangladesh deliver water and sanitation (WatSan), public health, primary health care, HIV/ Aids treatment (trough CAAP Confidential Approach to Aids Prevention – first full VCT and Treatment Day Clinic in Bangladesh) as well as support and disaster preparedness and response services for people living in absolute poverty. This is achieved by utilizing the capacity built within the communities, the local government (Union Parishad UP), Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and the private sector.
  • May 2006 - February 2008 Country Director, Oxfam GB
    • Management of Tajikistan Country Programme with over 70 staff and an annual operating budget of ₤ 2.5 Million BP. • Developed a long-term vision / National Change Strategy 2007 to 2012 with country analysis and action planning to achieve significant impact on own programme unit/region and Oxfam’s ability to change policy and practice in the external world. • Introduced the Organic Agriculture Concept in Tajikistan and successfully sourced funding for an Organic Agriculture and BioCotton integrated Household Livelihood Security programme as first NGO in Tajikistan through a 3 years pilot programme including certification, labeling and marketing. • Piloting the Participatory Marketing Management Approach in Oxfam’s Household Livelihood Security programme’s and in organic agriculture • Conducting a comprehensive Household Livelihood Security and Poverty Assessment in the Kathlon Province covering 15 district and analyzing more than 15.000 questionnaires (in collaboration with TANGO International) • Initiated and was lead in three research studies one on Climate Change and one Participatory Marketing and one on Rural Migration and its impact on livelihood development in Tajikistan.

    Based in the Southern African Regional Management Unit, Johannesburg Team Member of Care’s international Programme Strategy team and the Southern African Household Livelihood and Food Security response team. • As CARE ID program manager Africa (CPOA) I focused on CARE programs in countries, where CARE ID had or has actual or potential project responsibilities (Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Ghana, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia). The main purpose was the support to relief, rehabilitation and development projects of CARE ID in the region, in planning, acquisition, monitoring and reporting. • Responded to the ongoing food insecurity in the Southern and Western African region, development of Food security proposals (including rehabilitation of small dams, trip irrigation, treadle pumps and home gardens) and submission to ECHO and EC for Lesotho, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi with a volume of € 7,5 Mio • Developed Emergency WatSan projects, including budgeting, development of M&E plan, Training on ECHO project implementation, successfully submission of proposal to ECHO in Kenya, Somalia, Malawi and Zimbabwe and Mozambique with a approved volume of over € 4,5 Mio. • Developed EC ACP Water facilities concept papers and full proposals for submission to the EC for Mozambique, Ethiopia and Zambia with a volume of € 15 Mio (3 projects x5) • Conceptualized the than awarded Project after full proposal Development for the EC CfP for poverty related disease’s for Zambia with a proposed volume of € 5, 4 Mio. • Project and full proposal Development for global Call NGO Co-financing, 2 Household Livelihood Security proposals with a volume of € 3 Mio.
