The main objective of the Biodiversity Project in Paraguay is to preserve the biodiversity of the Upper Paraná Atlantic Forest (UPAF) and associated ecosystems.The total cost of the project is US$ 27.2 million.

The Board approval is expected to take place on 19 February 2010. The estimated total cost of the project is US$ 18.3 million.

The project will comprise the following components:
Component 1: Reconnecting Protected Areas
Component 2: Strengthening National Protected Areas System
Component 3: Improving Policy Framework
Component 4: Project Management
The total cost of the project is estimated at US$ 20 million.
