Project Summary

 

The main objective of the Social Sector Poverty Reduction Project in Honduras is to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of the updated 2006-2010 Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS), for economic and social development and to reduce poverty in the country, by targeting the basic social services on the extremely poor, introducing PRS projects and programs, and protecting their priority programs.

 

The components of the project include:

 

Component 1:  Stable Macroeconomic Setting;

Component 2:  PRS Programs Comprehensiveness;

Component 3:  Management by Results; and

Component 4:  Priority Program Protection.

 

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) estimates the total project cost at US$ 27.9 million.
