Deputy Chief of Party: Justice Sector Support Program in Cote D’ Ivoire USAID

 

The East-West Management Institute, Inc. (EWMI), a not-for-profit organization that supports democratic and economic development in transitional countries, is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for the USAID Justice Sector Support Program in Cote D’ Ivoire. The five-year project will improve the delivery of justice services, especially criminal justice, in Cote D’Ivoire.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

 

  • Fluency spoken, written and reading in English and technical professional proficiency in French.
  • A graduate degree in a relevant field (law, public administration, business administration, international relations, political science).
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing donor-funded rule of law or

relevant governance programs.

  • Substantial experience with monitoring and evaluation of donor-funded projects, preferably democracy and governance improvement efforts;
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills, successfully managing and coordinating large and disparate work groups;
  • Good human resource management skills;
  • Basic knowledge of management processes and systems, such as human resources management and development (including performance evaluation), financial management, and management of employee compensation systems.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of USAID grants under contracts mechanisms is desirable.
  • Criminal justice experience as either a judge, prosecutor or defender
  • Background in overseeing trainings, judicial inspections and access to justice projects
  • Experience working in Africa preferably Francophone Africa is desired.
