PLANNING AND EVALUATION SERVICE CENTER

SERVICE CENTER MANAGER

 Background:

Social Impact (SI) is an Arlington based international development management consulting firm. We provide a full range of innovative management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations and policies. We provide services globally in the areas of democracy and governance, health and education, agriculture, the environment, and economic growth.

 Objective:

SI is seeking an experienced Service Center Manager to support USAID’s Bureau for Policy, Planning and Learning (PPL) develop and implement a seamless integrated program cycle and programming system. PPL is creating a service center that will support USAID operating units and staff in their transition to the new learning-driven programming cycle.  The PPL Service Center will be the primary vehicle for supporting Agency implementation of these new policies and guidance.  The Center will play a leading role in assembling learning from the experience of first adopters of the new policies, in order to assist PPL to update Agency policies, guidance, tools and mechanisms.

Position Description:

The Service Center Manager is responsible for the overall planning and management of all Service Center activities, and reports to the COTR on a weekly basis on the status of major actions. 

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in international development strategic planning, project design and evaluation is required, including at least 5 years of experience managing an international development office staffed by at least 5 people. 
  • A Master’s degree in international development or a related field is required. 
  • At least 5 years of overseas international development experience in developing countries is required.  
  • A current Secret clearance is desirable, as the position will require this level of clearance for access to the USAID intranet.
