The PNG Advisory Support Facility (ASF) is an AusAID funded program which provides capacity building assistance to key PNG Government agencies. Working as an ASF Adviser is challenging and rewarding with the satisfaction of working alongside PNG counterparts to achieve developmental goals. PNG is a diverse and exciting country, providing opportunities for recreation, travel and cultural experiences. ASF seeks four advisers to work with three of our partner agencies.

Senior Audit Adviser (COFF-719) Department of Finance (12 month contract with possible extension)

This role will see the Senior Audit Adviser working collaboratively in assisting your colleagues in the Internal Audit Branch at the Department of Finance to improve the effectiveness of its internal audit unit practice and the ability of the branch to plan and manage internal audit requirements efficiently. The adviser will assist in the development and implementation of contemporary audit tools and processes, as well as supporting internal auditors more broadly across PNG government agencies.

To be considered for this position, you will need to demonstrate significant senior level experience in an audit or compliance role in a large organisation or government agency combined with experience developing strategies, processes and business plans and the ability to apply this in a developing country context.

Records Management Adviser (COFF-720) Department of Treasury (3 month contract)

This role will see the Records Management Adviser assisting the Department of Treasury and the Corporate Affairs Branch officers to undertake an analysis of the records management issues and needs and work collaboratively with colleagues in identifying appropriate options to address these. In addition, the adviser will provide advice and support in strengthening records management systems and processes within the Department.

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate management experience in registry services or archive management in a large organisation; combined with experience developing plans, processes and strategies and the ability to apply this in a developing country context.

Curriculum Adviser (COFF-718) PNG Institute of Public Administration (12 month contract with possible extension)

As the Curriculum Adviser to the PNG Institute of Public Administration, you will assist in developing the capacity of the Curriculum Design Unit in the development of quality training materials using a competency based approach, within the PNG National Training Qualifications Framework. This position will also work collaboratively with colleagues in the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures to assist in managing the delivery and assessment of public sector training.

To be considered for this position, you will need to demonstrate significant experience in managing the design, development and delivery of competency based training materials using instructional design techniques; combined with experience in monitoring and evaluating training outcomes and the ability to apply this in a developing country context. Work experience in a public sector context is desirable.

Human Resource and Planning Adviser (COFF-721) Department of Treasury (12 month contract with possible extension)

As the Human Resource and Planning Adviser to the Department of Treasury, you will provide support and guidance to your colleagues in the development of the Strategic Human Resource Plan and in the implementation of the performance management system. In addition the adviser will support the Department to undertake a training needs analysis and in developing and implementing sound human resource policies and procedures. This position will also work collaboratively with the Corporate Affairs Branch in assisting with the improvement of annual corporate planning, monitoring and reporting.

To be considered for this position, you will need to demonstrate senior level experience across a broad range of human resource functions, in addition to experience in corporate planning and organisational restructure. This experience will be combined with strong communication and change management skills and the ability to apply this in a developing country context.

Tax free status may be possible for full-time ASF positions over 90 days.
