Comic Relief and the Global Fund

A long standing relationship, Comic Relief and the Global Fund continue their commitment to transform the lives of the people by responsibly and efficiently investing money in health programs.

Comic Relief and the Global Fund

Comic Relief announced in 2014 a £2 million contribution to support the work of the Global Fund over the next two years. The money will be matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, bringing the total contribution to £4 million (more than $6.7 million). The contribution will support malaria programs to purchase mosquito nets and antimalarial drugs and will also support the strengthening of health systems in selected countries. Comic Relief has also contributed to the Global Fund’s efforts in the past. Between 2009 and 2010 Comic Relief donated £2 million, which paid for enough insecticide-treated nets to protect a million people against malaria in Zambia.
