Design to Move

Design to Move program will provide simple steps and tools to help schools and communities create active environments that get kids moving.

Design to Move

The partnership aims to promote and create awareness on the importance of physical activities and combat obesity. Recent studies indicate that Brazil’s kids are the least active in Latin America. If current trends continue, Brazilians will be 34% less active by 2030 than they were in 2002. The human and economic impacts that the inactivity crisis could have on the nation are alarming and unsustainable: shortened lifespans, billions in healthcare costs and productivity losses.

USAID/Brazil is committed to act and participate in the program by providing two actions:

  • transmit the message to all its partners;
  • support activities that will create an early positive experience for children and integrate physical activity into everyday life.
