Developing Agricultural Communities Partnership (DAC) with ConocoPhillips

The new agreement will add $500,000 for the project, expanding activities to an additional 10 communities, and increasing the number of farmer beneficiaries by 30%.

Dezenvolve Agricultura Comunitaria

Under the Partnership with ConocoPhillips, the USAID funded Developing Agriculture Communities (DAC) project, known locally as Dezenvolve Agricultura Comunitaria, would expand assistance to new farming communities, helping to link them to markets and strengthen the farm-to-consumer value chain. Currently, the DAC project operates exclusively in the Aileu District, using a contract farming model that requires intensive investment by a lead firm (supermarket). The 2014 USAID/ConocoPhillips partnership will enable the project to expand beyond its current reach and extend greater benefits to additional farmers and local vegetable traders.
