There is a need to communicate and demonstrate that agribusiness, in the Philippines can be profitable and its growth can be inclusive. Farmers and agricultural workers need to learn about agri-based opportunities and gain the market-ready skills to participate and benefit more from the growth of the Philippine agricultural sector, and they need to realize that commercial and environmental objectives can co-exist in the agribusiness sector.
The project targets the heart of rural poverty in the Philippines, and is designed to transform farmers and other agricultural workers in select provinces into entrepreneurs through practical and hands-on experience in duck-industry related businesses. Philippine Agrarian Reform Foundation for National Development (PARFUND) is the leading expert and practitioner of duck raising technology in the Philippines. The organizations experience and established models of entrepreneurs in the duck-industry value chain shall be used to train interested agri-entrepreneurs.
