Tapping the Potential of Vietnam's Technology Resources Through Higher Education

Developing Vietnam's human resource potential in the area of technology and hardware/software design.

Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP)

USAID, the Arizona State University Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Portland State University, Intel Corp., Cadence, Danaher and Siemens are collaborating with top technical universities and vocational colleges in Vietnam to transform engineering education from passive, theory-based curriculum and instruction to active, project-based approaches through the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program, or HEEAP. Vietnam’s emerging high-tech industry has strong economic potential and with the right infrastructure and support, the higher engineering education system has the opportunity to develop dynamic graduates that contributes to global productivity including technology manufacturing, research and development, and hardware/software design. HEEAP provides a framework that can be expanded with more institutions, more faculty and additional programming to match industry needs as they arise.
