Lakbay Buhay Kalusugan (LBK) Caravan

Lakbay Buhay Kalusugan (LBK) is a Public-Private Partnership for health promotion and basic health care services through health care caravan. It is made possible by a partnership among the Philippines Department of Health- National Center for Health Promotion, Local Government Units, USAID, and private partners.

Lakbay Buhay Kalusugan or LBK (Journey to a Healthy Life) partnership

Lakbay Buhay Kalusugan (LBK) health promotion initiative is a health caravan which brings health information and services to isolated and disadvantaged communities and resources from private and public partners. LBK is a health fiesta caravan which aims to bring health information and services to geographically isolated and disadvantaged communities (GIDAs). The Philippine Department of Health (DOH)-led and USAID-assisted the project to promote health services on maternal and child health, nutrition. Through Department Memorandum No. 2011-0121 dated 11 April 2011, DOH enjoined all personnel to provide technical support for coordination, implementation and monitoring of LBK in the identified sites. The program is supported by USAID together with Victory Liner Inc., Philippine Daily Inquirer, Air21, OMF Literature Inc., Dakila, Manila Broadcasting Co., Alliance of Young Nurse Leaders and Advocates International, and other local partners. They provided financial support and technical assistance while Local Government Units (LGU) managed the planning and implementation of LBK.
