MasterCard Foundation and Save the Children: Youth in Action Program

This unique program combines education and entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture for rural, out-of-school youth in five African countries—Burkina Faso, Egypt, Ethiopia, Malawi and Uganda.

MasterCard Foundation and Save the Children: Youth in Action Program

The MasterCard Foundation and Save the Children have partnered to benefit young people who have missed the opportunity to go to school, and are working in informal labour in rural communities. The project will identify and recruit out-of-school youth to complete Save the Children’s award-winning program, Literacy Boost, to facilitate their entry into primary school. The project will also help transition young people into jobs in the agricultural sector through further agricultural training, vocational education, apprenticeships, or by providing toolkits to start their own business.
