Saving one Million Lives Initiative focuses on improving health outcomes in Nigeria by strengthening the execution, performance management and delivery of services in health. This ambitious and comprehensive initiative aims to scale up access to essential primary health services and commodities for Nigeria's women and children. Through the initiative, the Government of Nigeria has pledged to save one million lives by 2015, building on growing international momentum behind child and maternal survival, including the UN Secretary-General's Every Women Every Child movement and the UN Commission on Life-saving Commodities for Women and Children.
