Novateca: The Global Libraries Program in Moldova

Novateca – the Global Libraries Program in Moldova – is designed to increase opportunities for wide scale public access to information and communication technologies through the existing public library network. The project will first network with a wide range of library stakeholders and then provide training to librarians, and pilot public access to Internet and computers in more than 50 public libraries in Moldova while creating five regional training centers to train over 100 librarians to use the full potential of new technological resources for the benefit of their communities. The program is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through support from USAID.
