Lymphatic filariasis is a debilitating illness that affects up to 60% of the population in some areas of Haiti. Primary treatment and prevention strategies to combat this disease involve annual mass drug administration (MDA). Approximately 58% of children suffer from iodine deficiency in Haiti and no national salt iodization program exists.
