The USAID Macroeconomic Project (MEP) assists beneficiaries in both Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to diversify their economies and promote more inclusive and broad-based growth through macroeconomic stability, enhanced competitiveness, expanded private sector participation and increased trade. To this end:
The project has provided extensive training and capacity building to upwards of 700 persons in a diverse array of topics, ranging from international public sector accounting standards (IPSAS) and accounting to public audit, infrastructure public-private-partnerships, and global best practice in the business regulatory environment. To date, over 50 policy recommendations and guidelines submitted with USAID support.
