Vale, a large metals and mining company, is committed to improving the quality of life in the communities in which it operates. At the end of last year, Vale committed US$3 million to the Global Fund for the period 2013-2015 to help support programs in Mozambique and Malawi. The company has already contributed US$1 million in 2013.

Over the last three years, Vale invested US$ 1.2 billion in social projects. These community programs focus on education, healthcare, culture, infrastructure and promotion of citizenship.
