FUNCTIONS TO DEVELOP:

  • Carry out awareness-raising activities and facilitate the development of capacities for girls and young women, women from communities and ETRMs, civil society organizations (CSOs), private sector agents and agents of the protection system in migration contexts.
  • Generate spaces for dialogue with communities, social and community organizations, and local governments on issues related to social cohesion and peaceful coexistence with an intersectional approach.
  • Strengthen the existing structures and channels of participation with the existing Local Government Units (UGL) to improve the mechanisms of social cohesion.
  • Facilitate advocacy and dialogue to address the promotion of social cohesion and community participation in a context of human mobility with communities and policy makers.
  • Promote information on access to rights, care routes and referral of services available in the host community and/or ETRM that provide assistance to people in vulnerable conditions.
  • Coordinate the access of people in vulnerable conditions to specialized and available services, establishing an action and follow-up plan. Services include: Medical assistance; Psychosocial support; Legal advice and safe spaces, etc.
  • Generate weekly reports and reports (Excel record, methodological sheet, activity report format, evaluation of interventions/awareness, others) according to the project requirements, logistical or security difficulties observed, context overview and challenges for case response .
  • Carry out activities framed on significant dates that promote social cohesion and community empowerment in the population of interest.
  • Support the field coordination and technical coordination in the approach of strategic allies that have a presence in Darién
  • Adapt and develop technical material that helps generate mechanisms of social cohesion and accountability to affected populations.
  • Perform other functions that the position requires as the need is identified.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional degree in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work or related fields.
  • Minimum experience of one year developing community activities in the field, preferably with populations in vulnerable situations.
  • Experience coordinating actions with government or private institutions through joint coordination.
  • Demonstrated application of core community work competencies and commitment to the core principles of community engagement and AAP.
  • Willing to move within the national territory, particularly where HIAS has a presence.
