Project

Ginger SOFRECO is currently implementing Technical Assistance for the Abidjan–Lagos Corridor Project. This project, funded by the African Development Bank, aims to support the development of a six-lane, 1,028-km-long homogeneous highway from Abidjan to Lagos.

The feasibility study for the Accra bypass tunnel is currently in progress.

Objective of the position

To support the Client in monitoring the implementation of the feasibility study for the Accra bypass tunnel, starting with the review of the Inception Report.

Workload

5 working days for the review of the Inception Report. This initial task will be followed by other short, intermittent assignments over time.

Profile

1) General qualifications (general education, training, and experience)

  • Diploma (Masters’ Degree in Civil Engineering, Public Works, Structure, or equivalent)
  • Work experience, at least 15 years’ experience in the field of tunnel design, construction or operations

2) Adequacy for the Assignment :(relevant education, training, experience in the sector/similar assignments)

  • Have occupied a post of Tunnel Expert for at least two (2) feasibility/detailed engineering studies of tunnels during the past 10 years.
  • Involvement in at least one (1) Tunnel Operation project during the past 10 years will be required.

3) a) Relevant experience in the region

  • Working experience in Africa on at least 1 road project

3) b) working level fluency in (French or English):

  • Fluent in either English or French with a working knowledge of the other language
