World Vision US is hiring an Advocacy Communications and Marketing Specialist to serve on the Advocacy Team.

Location: Washington, D.C. or Federal Way, WA preferred – remote options possible

Reports to: Director of Advocacy Mobilization

Required experience: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English, related field or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 3 years previous work experience in writing/editing, cause marketing, or related field. Knowledge of design, with ability in a wide range of software programs to produce written, design and photographic materials may be required.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.

Travel: Some domestic travel may be required.

The Job: World Vision is looking for an Advocacy Communications and Marketing Specialist to provide critical support for advocacy communication campaigns and activities designed to acquire and cultivate advocate relationships and support division goals, achieving a level of quality consistent with corporate identity and brand message and industry standards. You will help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies and personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
  • Develop communication solutions designed to achieve divisional goal of acquiring and cultivating corporate advocate relationships. Includes data analysis, creation of story arc, content, graphic design, and production of print, video and web materials. Output may include, but is not limited to: performance tracking and reports, campaign collateral materials, case studies, special event presentation materials.
  • Manage department documentation, maintaining and updating content/design as needed for print and web based materials.
  • Manage work queue, including team resources, scope, budget, schedule, and quality according to team, department and division needs.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and/or internal support departments in the execution of tactical marketing activities and special requests.
  • Participate in or lead efforts for department/division process improvement projects, quality improvement projects and ongoing training and development.
  • Oversee work of volunteers and interns as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

You Bring These Skills:

  • Ability to interpret data, visualize, and translate for others
  • Project management skills
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics.
  • Understanding of basic marketing principles (specifically digital marketing and email marketing)
  • Experience with Mailchimp or other email marketing tool
  • Basic understanding of statistics (basic)
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager (basic)
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Advanced excel skills (pivot tables, countif/sumif/vlookup competencies)
  • Creative problem solver
  • Ability to work with large data sets
  • Able to work independently
