P4F aims to support the emergence of a new investment model in which the public sector, private sector companies and wider communities can achieve better returns from sustainable forestry and land use than they are able to from deforestation and land degradation. The main objective of the programme is to support a set of public-private partnerships (PPPs) and initiatives which demonstrate how the private sector can contribute to a reduction in rates of deforestation, as well as a range of related enabling activities to address the policy environment.

Expected results include improved and more sustainable prevention of deforestation, reforestation of degraded land and leverage of private finance. The programme will also aim to support a transformation to sustainability in markets for commodities that are associated with deforestation, including timber, palm oil, soya, beef, paper and board. The Analyst, Operations will support all financial, administrative and managerial activities of the programme and, specifically, will:
* Contribute to financial management of the programme, including internal and external reporting, internal and external forecasting, and client invoicing;
* Support operational aspects of the P4F programme and grants mechanism at procurement, financial and administrative levels;
* Coordinate financial sign-off and approval processes in accordance with the corporate delegation of authority policy;
* Serve as a coordination point for programme consultants and service providers where designated;
* Provide coordination and logistical support to the teams based at HQ in Bristol, UK as well as in five regional offices (Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Ghana and Indonesia);
* Support the Manager, Operations in general programme administration, including the preparation of payment approval forms for project expenses, drafting of contracts with personnel and suppliers, maintenance of project asset registers, and other management information systems - including the project’s intranet site;
* Any other duties reasonably required by the Manager, Operations. This may include duties linked to the delivery of other programmes which the Company manages.

Essential
* Bachelor’s degree with a focus on international development, project management, finance/accounting or other relevant field;
* Professional project management or administration experience;
* Financial acumen and the ability to interpret and analyse financial data;
* Strong organisational skills;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
* Solution-focused, ‘can-do’ approach to working life; and
* Willingness to relocate to and be based out of the Bristol area, full-time, for the duration of the contract.

Desirable
* Professional experience in finance or accounting;
* Experience working with a development agency such as DFID, DFAT, USAID or EC
* Finance or accounting qualification;
* Project Management qualification;
* Professional or voluntary experience in developing countries;
* Professional or voluntary experience in a consultancy/business environment;
* Professional experience of grant management, preferably in an international development context;
* Ability to communicate in a relevant second language, preferably French;
* Willingness to travel at short notice and to developing country environments; and
* Full driving licence with access to own vehicle.

This role is offered at 40 hours per week at £22,000 - £24,000. However, 32 hours (pro-rata salary) would be considered, if necessary for the right candidate.
